FACT: Women and minorities don’t participate in accelerators at the same rates as white men. A new virtual program aims to change that.
Found a great article about business accelerators for women and minority businesses. This article talks specifically about the virtual accelerator, Circular Board. For those who are unfamiliar with a business accelerator, it is similar to a business incubator but offers differences services depending on the stage of your business. Fernando Sepulveda explained it best in his INC.com article titled, “The Difference Between a Business Accelerator and a Business Incubator?” He explained that an incubator is like a father providing a safe haven for a child. In a business incubator, an business may receive office space, business skills training and access to financial and professional networks. The incubator supports the business through the startup phase (childhood) into adolescence. As we all know, an adolescent does not have the same needs a child, and such is the case with a business that is growing out of the startup phase and ready to spread their wings. Businesses in this stage tend to need services that are more like advisory and consulting services that help the business owner focus on strategy and organizational and operation difficulties.
So, for anyone who is ready to spread their wings, I encourage to research this and other business accelerators.
